ALBANY, N.Y. – The majority of New York’s more than 4,700 deaths due to coronavirus were among men, and 86% of all deaths were among people who had underlying illnesses, such as hypertension and diabetes, new state data shows.

In addition, 63% of the deaths were among those age 70 and older, while 7% of the cases were those 49 and younger.

The leading underlying illness was hypertension, which showed up in 55% of the deaths.

Next was diabetes, which was diagnosed in 1,755 deaths, or about 37% of the cases.

So 14% of deaths had no known underlying illness.

And 30% of deaths were in the 50-69 age group.

Underlying illnesses... high blood pressure was the leader.

"...people of color are being hit the hardest by the virus

...
Overall, the state has tested about 321,000 people, so about 59% have tested negative.

...while the deaths are still rising, they may have begun to plateau as the rate has stayed consistent recent days and the number of hospitalizations have fallen."

I don't discount any life, this proves that emphasizing who should be quarantined is an absolute necessity for them

Last couple of years I would read stories of people dying from influenza (flu), that were healthy, young & old, & I thought wow, this is crazy......& several hundred thousand die from it every year.

Now that this Corona virus has struck, you don't hear about people dying from influenza, or much if any other health problem.

All you see when someone does is it's Corona virus ......what happened to influenza? Why aren't people dying from natural causes, cancer, etc ......

It seems they're just tacking on every death & blaming it on Corona virus, which will inflated all the numbers.

You're incapable. Go back two weeks ago and start reading threads here. You starting another 30 threads like the other culprits here....I know you’re capable of it because you sit around on these right wing extremist propaganda news outlets all day looking for articles. We have enough of that shit right now. Flameo and Zit have 50 threads between the two of them. And you think I am exaggerating? I’m not. Go click on enflameos name and see for yourself how many alone he has started here on this.

During 2019, 8,219 people died in the U.S. each day.
57,533 per average week
230,132 per average month
2,761,584 for the year

**the millions of unborn babies murdered during 2019 are not included.

The abortions were quite easily preventable. How does that effect the future economy & mental well being of "America". Many brilliant minds were "wasted".

As for the daily deaths, do you (or can you) stop people from getting old, using alcohol, smoking, being fat, using drugs, being stressed to death, etc.. Maybe something could reasonably be done to lower car deaths & those due to the flu, etc.

It's happening across the entire country.

This chart makes it obvious that they are counting pneumonia and flu deaths as covid deaths.

How can anyone look at that and argue otherwise?
